Actor Mikhail Porechenkov, known to many Russians for his amiable hero roles in films, agreed to take on an openly roguish character. It was reported by Aif.
“Why? It’s my job to understand, to grasp the motivations behind people. And what will you do with Dostoevsky’s heroes, for instance? There are plenty of scoundrels out there,” Porechenkov noted.
The artist revealed that he spent no fewer than two hundred shooting days, not counting his theater commitments from the previous year.
Earlier Mikhail Porechenkov acknowledged that after guidance from the elder Schema-Archimandrite Elijah, the confessor to Patriarch Kirill, he decided to participate in the film “Russian Cross.” He explained that upon learning director Eduard Boyakov was working on a film adaptation of this poem, he immediately wanted to be part of the project. Porechenkov added that he convinced the former artistic director of the Moscow Art Theater that he was suitable for the lead role, Ivan Rostok.
