New generations discover the impressive archaeological heritage of Alicante province in the most engaging way. The CV MARQ Foundation organized dramatized sessions that invite families to explore MARQ’s permanent exhibition rooms with guided, child friendly storytelling. From Sunday February 12 to March 19, seven sessions led by expert translators will illuminate the museum’s content, making it accessible for visitors of all ages.
The program is supported by the Vice President of Culture in the region, who emphasizes that this educational activity aims to bring the youngest audiences closer to the museum and to highlight the importance of understanding, valuing, and preserving our precious archaeological assets. A secondary goal is to foster ongoing museum visits and strengthen social ties within the community.
A record MARQ: more than 43,000 visits this summer
The dramatized visits and accompanying didactic ideas are developed annually by the Foundation’s Didactic Unit to present MARQ in a way that is both entertaining and rigorous. This educational approach invites visitors to let their imaginations run free through a time travel experience that appeals to both adults and children. Through the adventures of Pyre and Cavernus, guests explore Alicante’s past, learning as they play. Young participants can enjoy activities such as rain dances or dressing as an Iberian lady or a Roman legionnaire, bringing history to life for the little ones.
The sessions for this program occur on February 12, 19, and 26 and March 5, 12, 18, and 19, all at 12:30. The program targets children aged 3 to 9 years, and a supervising adult is required for all minors. Tickets and additional information are available on the MARQ website, marqalicante.com. These educational sessions are designed to be both fun and informative, offering a structured yet imaginative way to explore archaeology and heritage at MARQ.
