First details about Maror Festival

Maror Festival is the new pop rock concert series by the sea organized from La Vila Joiosa. It will take place from June 14 to 16 on the Antoneta beach. The confirmed acts include Ciudad Jara, Maluks, and Niuss, with two more bands to be announced. These groups will perform on June 15 in this coastal setting, complemented over the weekend by a street market featuring handmade crafts, vintage clothing, and local products, plus a food truck area serving international cuisine.

A traditional gastronomic event in Villajoyosa, La Pebrereta, is scheduled for March 14. This event will offer activities for all ages, and it is expected that public transportation by bus and train will be expanded and reinforced on June 15 to accommodate attendees.

The mayor of La Vila, Marcos Zaragoza, stated that Maror Festival represents a clear commitment to youth leisure, culture, the Valencian language, and music. The goal is for the festival to become a reference point and a must for the summer festival calendar.

Initial musical confirmations

Ciudad Jara, Maluks, and Niuss are the first artists joining the Maror Festival lineup.

Ciudad Jara is the music project led by Pablo Sánchez, formerly the singer, songwriter, and frontman of the internationally known band La Raíz. In 2020 he launched a new musical project and released his debut album Donde nace el infarto, followed by Cinema in 2022, and the group is currently on tour with La velada del lobo.

The band includes Tato James, Juan Belda on guitar, Jordi Martí on bass, Joan Marc on keyboards, Miquel Ramos on drums, and Sánchez himself continues as songwriter and vocalist. The style of Sánchez is evident in the music of every project he participates in: the guitar as a leading voice, the poetry, folk-inspired songs, social satire, and the singer-songwriter sensibility.

Maluks is in the spotlight as they present a new release from the Valencian electro-tropical era often called the queens of the scene. The release features eight tracks blending dancehall, Latin rhythms, rap, urban, reggae, and even techno to energize the audience.

Niuss is a high-energy act packed with enthusiasm and modern, forward-looking pop, rumba, and reggae with electronic accents. Their live shows aim to spread joy, hope, and social commentary in a spirited and dynamic performance.
