The disclosed statements, made during a meeting with lawyer Dmitry Krasnov of Evening Moscow, indicate that the new law concerning the deprivation of counterfeit property and honorary titles tied to the Russian military will not apply to the real estate associated with Alla Pugacheva and Maxim Galkin, who are recognized in Russia as foreign agents.
Krasnov stressed that, to his knowledge, the Investigative Committee chose not to open a case against Alla Pugacheva and Maxim Galkin after reviewing an investigation under the clause related to fraud involving the armed forces, and it did not find grounds for such a measure.
He further noted that under the new law there cannot be a claim that the state can seize Pugacheva’s castle in Gryazi because such action would be illegal. Krasnov also added that Pugacheva did not hold the status of a foreign agent.
Earlier, after a Telegram channel was taken down, the State Duma urged the Ministry of Internal Affairs to verify whether real estate owned by Galkin and Pugacheva could be seized in accordance with the law on seizure of property believed to be counterfeit in relation to the Armed Forces. The appeal called for actions aimed at ensuring state security. Deputy Dmitry Gusev characterized the artists as acting against the people and suggested that the singer should face not only the castle but also the removal of the People’s Artist title.
In a separate development, Roza Syabitova provided clarification regarding the quantum of a pension in circulation at the time of reporting.
