Labyrinth Emerge Alicante emerged as the winner of the 2022 talent competition, marking a bright highlight for the city’s vibrant arts scene. During the Grand Final on Saturday at Seneca Space, a discerning expert jury evaluated the Alicante artist’s proposal—a distinctive project that aims to reveal the broad spectrum of listeners’ emotions through sound and performance.
Looking ahead to next Saturday, May 28, the Spring Festival will feature Maze performing live and introducing tracks from their debut EP. The performance is scheduled to open the festival’s second day in Istanbul at 17:15, celebrated within the Alicante City & Beach cultural district. Fans can follow Maze on Instagram at @mazeonism for updates and behind-the-scenes content.
The other two finalists, Ghost Weekend and Marshol & Nasshir, demonstrated how Alicante’s music scene continues to grow rapidly. Their successful outcomes underscore the importance of ongoing support for local culture and musicians, both to nurture new talent and to promote the city’s creative economy on a broader stage.
Emerge Alicante 2022 thus reinforces a shared commitment—again, this year—that Producciones Baltimore and the Alicante City Council’s Culture Department will persist in spotlighting the city’s rising talents and providing platforms where artists can develop and connect with audiences.

The professional jury featured a blend of industry experience and local insight. Members included the 2021 Emerge Alicante winners as mentors, John Lopez, a journalist with Alicante Live Music, Begona Echevarria, the cultural manager for the Alicante City Council, Victoria Soler, a sociocultural animator, and Carolina Rodríguez, director of Producciones Baltimore. Their evaluations reflected a deep understanding of artistic growth, audience engagement, and the potential impact of new voices on Alicante’s cultural landscape. These insights were shared with transparency and a clear orientation toward advancing local talent on larger stages, both within Spain and beyond.
