Ivan Krasko, a revered People’s Artist of Russia, remains in good spirits after a stumble at the opening ceremony of a football tournament in St. Petersburg. His assistant, Daria, shared the update in a discussion with socialbites.ca, noting that the 93-year-old performer plans to spend the near term at his dacha to regain strength.

According to Daria, Krasko and the team attended the event where St. Petersburg theaters organized a football kickoff. Krasko attempted a kick to inaugurate the ceremony, felt his form was underwhelming, and decided to try again. During the second attempt he tripped, falling onto his pacemaker. An ambulance arrived and transported him to Pokrovsk hospital. Medical staff confirmed the pacemaker was functioning properly and that Krasko was in stable condition. He is currently feeling well, as reported by his assistant.

Daria added that Krasko’s energy for theater work has dwindled, but he continues to participate in select events when possible.

She emphasized that a scheduled public appearance for June 30 should be postponed for the actor’s health. The plan was to bring him to a demonstration, but she advised rest at the dacha to recover.

Earlier, on May 30, mk.ru reported that the veteran artist was in St. Petersburg at the time of the incident on May 27. The article noted his hospital stay followed a brief illness connected to the event.

Krasko has faced health challenges in 2023 as well. He was admitted to Elizabeth Hospital in January with a suspected stroke and again in July for a suspected stroke, during which a blood clot was urgently removed. Doctors later stated that Krasko felt better but had limited mobility due to vascular issues in his legs. He also disclosed experiencing signs of vision impairment, hearing loss, and memory difficulties, which have been monitored by medical professionals.

In related news, fellow actor Alexander Mikhailov has also undergone hospitalization related to festival activities in recent years, highlighting the ongoing health considerations within the acting community.
