In Moscow’s Basmanny District Court, actor Danil Kozlovsky faced a civil penalty tied to a dispute over an apartment purchase and sale agreement. Channel Five reported the court’s decision, noting the financial penalty as part of the wider civil proceedings surrounding the transaction.
The judge ordered a fine of 37 thousand rubles against the actor as a consequence of the case, a figure that underscores the financial consequences that can accompany contractual disputes of this kind. The ruling sits within a broader backdrop of debt linked to property and the obligations that accompany urban real estate deals in a bustling metropolis, where historic buildings and modern transactions often intersect in legal battles.
In September 2022, LLC Mashkova, 13 filed a lawsuit against Kozlovsky alleging that the actor did not repay a debt tied to an estate valued at 800 thousand rubles, connected to an apartment situated in a historic building on Mashkova Street. By December of that year, a further 400 thousand rubles had been recovered in relation to the same matter. These financial entries highlight a pattern of obligations tied to a single property and the way civil actions unfold when repayments fall behind schedule.
In April 2023, activist Vitaly Borodin reported that after Russia began its special operation in Ukraine, Kozlovsky traveled to the United States and then returned to Russia, spending time in Moscow and Saint Petersburg. He reportedly contacted the prosecutor’s office and explained that he planned to perform in theaters in Saint Petersburg, signaling a continued commitment to his artistic work despite international tensions.
The actor stated that he does not hold a second citizenship and that he would travel to visit his child in America. He also denied Borodin’s remarks that he had criticized the Russian government, presenting his actions as those of a performer navigating a demanding career rather than a political stance.
On September 13 of the previous year, Kozlovsky filed a suit against Borodin for a ruble, a symbolic legal move that some public figures use to challenge unfounded rumors or to assert grievances.
Earlier in his career, Kozlovsky performed a song associated with Alla Pugacheva, signaling the actor’s lasting ties to the Russian music and theater scene and occasionally drawing attention to his public image during periods of legal and personal scrutiny.
