The University of Alicante Auditorium welcomes a performance this Wednesday at 19:00 that blends theater and music. The show, titled Joan Fuster’s Turntable, is framed as part of UA’s cultural programming and serves to celebrate the Joan Fuster Year.

The production is a montage starring Pau Alabajos, a singer-songwriter known for his live musical storytelling. It threads together a selection of texts associated with Fuster to create a mosaic of thoughts, aphorisms, and propositions. On stage, this assembly becomes the core of an imagined interview and a dramatized meeting, featuring a writer and a young journalist from Sueca. They discuss Setze Jutges’ role in the anti-Franco struggle, the significance of Nova Cançó during Spain’s democratic transition, and other social, political, and cultural issues that have shaped recent history.

Pau Alabajos performs live several emblematic anthems from the sixties and seventies and offers a homage to Joan Fuster on the centennial birthday celebrations. This event is part of the UA per l’Any Fuster program, which honors the centenary of the most influential Valencian intellectual of the twentieth century.

Admission costs five euros. Alfred Picó portrays Joan Fuster, with Lara Salvador serving as the journalist. Live music is provided by Pau Alabajos, and the stage direction is credited to Gabriel Ochoa.
