Authorities are conducting a formal inquiry into multiple video recordings showing actor Sergei Chirkov behaving inappropriately at a children’s talent show in Obninsk, located in the Kaluga region. The development was reported by RIA News, citing the press service of the police department.
The footage depicts the actor smoking on stage and directing obscene language toward attendees, including minors. Law enforcement agencies initiated the investigation after reviewing material from media outlets and social networks.
A spokesperson for the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs said that investigators are currently gathering facts and clarifying the circumstances. He noted that a decision will be issued in line with applicable laws once the inquiry concludes.
The Kaluga Region Prosecutor’s Office added that intervention measures will be taken based on the investigation’s findings, in accordance with prosecutorial oversight responsibilities.
Earlier reports from Life, citing Shot, indicated that Chirkov could face up to 15 days of detention and a fine of up to 10,000 rubles for the drunken disruption at a children’s contest and for publicly insulting minor participants in Obninsk.
