Ice show director Ilya Averbukh, known for his work behind the scenes of world-class performances, recently shared a personal wish during a discussion on STMEGI TV’s YouTube channel. He spoke about wanting a larger family and the joy of parenting a very young child who will be two years old this August. He expressed a desire not only to add more children but also to celebrate meaningful milestones with them, hoping to be present for at least their 20th anniversaries. He emphasized that his hopes are tempered by faith and circumstance, noting that much depends on God’s will.
Averbukh has been married since 2021 to Elizaveta Arzamasova, the actress known from the television series Daddy’s Daughters. The couple is raising their son Leo. Before this marriage, Averbukh was partnered with figure skater Irina Lobacheva. The two welcomed a son named Martin in 2004, but their marriage ended in 2007.
During a different program, Lobacheva spoke about the challenges she faced following the breakup, including battles with alcohol. In the period after the separation, Martin lived with his father. Lobacheva later continued to reside in the same home as Averbukh and his son, though Martin himself pursued a strong interest in skateboarding rather than following in his parents’ skating footsteps.
Arzamasova has also shared a touching family tradition, describing how the family plants apple trees together, a practice that marks togetherness and growth over the years. The stories of these families highlight the intertwining of careers, personal journeys, and the everyday rituals that anchor life beyond the spotlight. (Attribution: STMEGI TV)
