Health updates surrounding Igor Nikolaev’s scheduled concerts in Russia
Concert venues in Sochi and Krasnodar canceled Igor Nikolaev’s performances scheduled for September 20 and 21, and a corresponding show in Rostov, set for September 19, was also called off. A socialbites.ca correspondent confirmed this information at the box offices of the respective concert halls where the artist was slated to perform. Reports from 161.ru corroborated the Rostov cancellation, noting that the artist had been hospitalized.
Officials at Krasnodar’s central concert hall of the Kuban Cossack Choir explained that ticket sales were temporarily halted due to Nikolaev’s hospitalization. They indicated that the concert would be postponed and that tickets had not yet been reissued for a new date.
The theaters and press outlets subsequently relayed that Nikolaev had suffered a heart attack at the Festivalny concert hall in Sochi. A cashier at a venue recounted, a bit tersely, that there were no tickets left and that the concert was canceled because the artist had undergone a heart attack.
The situation extended into online platforms as well. An announcement about Nikolaev’s September concerts was removed from the Yandex.Afisha service, and new ticket sales appeared for different dates in November.
On September 15, Telegram channels, including 112, reported that Nikolaev had been urgently hospitalized, a claim that Izvestia later confirmed. Subsequent updates from Mash and other outlets indicated that the artist had been moved to intensive care. Early reports described signs of a massive heart attack based on electrocardiography (ECG) results, with doctors working to stabilize the patient’s condition. A competing source from TASS offered the different perspective that Nikolaev remained in a hospital setting rather than intensive care, as a separate narrative suggested.
Public records recount that Nikolaev’s health challenges began in 2021 with his first heart attack. The singer’s health concerns resurfaced in January 2023 when he experienced chest pains at a country residence in the Moscow region. He was transported by ambulance to a Krasnogorsk hospital, but soon transferred to the National Medical Research Center of Cardiology under the Ministry of Health of Russia, where surgeons placed two stents.
In related health news, TV presenter Aza Likhitchenko was reported to have been urgently hospitalized due to heart problems, underscoring a period of heightened medical attention for public figures in the region.
