The Ice. Life exhibition, devised by the team behind the celebrated Punk Culture and The King and the Clown projects, was announced to socialbites.ca by the project’s press office. The show invites visitors to view ice as a multi dimensional subject that binds science, culture, and art. It treats ice as a bridge between nature and human activity, linking data, design, and daily life, and it invites audiences to look beyond the surface to uncover its hidden stories.

Representatives from Rosatom, which operates the planet’s only fleet of nuclear icebreakers, will guide visitors through the exhibit and share insights about ice from its physical and chemical properties to its roles in powering nuclear energy, shaping daily routines, influencing sports and exploration, and inspiring artists. The information comes through the project press office and underscores how ice informs climate research, global shipping, and resilience in extreme environments.

An audio narrative crafted specifically for Ice. Life will accompany guests on an immersive journey. The track invites listeners into a speculative voyage, with the story unfolding in the imagined landscape of a spaceship departing toward an Ice Planet, blending science with cinematic imagination to spark wonder.

Ice. Life marks the second collaboration between Plus Studio and Planet9. The exhibition will be staged at Sevkabel Port, a waterfront venue known for creative programs and experimental displays. Scientific consultants, glaciologists, and polar explorers contributed to the concept, while curators and art historians Anna Buali and Liya Chechik selected artworks that resonate with the theme of ice, emphasizing texture, light, and memory captured in frozen forms.

Earlier announcements also revealed a New Year program, Uncle Styopa, based on Mikhalkov’s poem, which will be presented as part of the broader Ice. Life program. The project showcases the ongoing versatility of the collaborators, weaving together science, performance, and visual art to create a seasonal, festive experience.
