The production Huanita arrives in Alicante as part of a cultural initiative presented by the Mediterranean Foundation of Alicante. The show will be staged on Wednesday, September 7 at 7:00 PM, as a highlight of the Mediterranean Theater Exhibition. The production has earned recognition across Spain, having gone through 50 stages and winning 80 awards in amateur theater circuits. It promises to surprise audiences by merging universal themes with sensual elements, blending elements of the theatre of the absurd with aspects of commedia dell’arte.
The story of Huanita is crafted and directed by Venezuelan artist Marcos Altuve Marquina. The narrative unfolds in the Venezuelan Andes in the years following World War II, while tackling contemporary topics such as sexual identity, relationships, family dynamics, friendship, and first love from childhood.
