Hollywood Celebrities Call for Gaza-Israel Ceasefire and Humanitarian Aid

55 Hollywood figures joined a call to urge U.S. President Joe Biden and world leaders to pursue an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and Israel. The appeal was reported by Variation and highlights the urgent need to protect civilian lives amid ongoing conflict.

The message requests that leaders honor the right to safety for all residents of the Holy Land and push for a ceasefire that ends bombardment in Gaza while facilitating the release of hostages. It notes that Gaza’s population is young and densely concentrated, with children comprising a large portion of the residents and many families displaced as refugees. The call emphasizes the humanitarian imperative behind such measures and the protection of civilians in conflict zones.

Signatories also demand that humanitarian aid be allowed to reach Gaza to relieve shortages and suffering. UNICEF has previously described critical conditions on the ground, including the exhaustion of fuel at the sole power plant, which has disrupted electricity, water supply, and wastewater treatment. This has left many residents without reliable access to drinking water and other essential services, according to UNICEF spokesperson James Elder.

In total, 55 entertainment figures lent their names to the appeal. Among them are Joaquin Phoenix, Cate Blanchett, Jon Stewart, Kristen Stewart, Susan Sarandon, Mahershala Ali, Riz Ahmed, Rami Youssef, and Quinta Brunson, all of whom participated to amplify the urgent humanitarian message.

Earlier, Madonna reinforced security measures at her concerts after facing threats tied to her public stance on the conflict. The event security updates reflect a broader context in which public figures engage with international crises and the responsibilities that accompany advocacy in high-profile roles.
