Hija de la Luna, a Green Cow Music live show honoring the iconic Mecano, arrives in Benidorm this Sunday. Led by the Sevillian singer Robin Torres, audiences will experience what promoters describe as the finest Mecano tribute to date. The performance is set for August 11 at 10:00 p.m. at the Benidorm Palace.
More than three decades after Mecano rolled out its final tour, Aidalai Tour, the music remains alive across generations. To celebrate the 25th anniversary, the project Hija de la luna emerged in 2016 as a Mecano homage that goes beyond a simple tribute, becoming a full musical spectacle. The striking resemblance between the tribute singerRobin Torres and Ana Torroja is a key factor in the show’s appeal, elevating the act above other tributes.
Robin, who appeared in the 2015 season of the television competition show The Voice, earned praise for her interpretive talent from stars like Alejandro Sanz, Laura Pausini, Malú, and Antonio Orozco. The Sevillian actress and singer has long aspired to perform and has trained in acting, singing, classical and contemporary dance. Her career spans theater, musical productions, television, film, and advertising appearances.
Since 2016, the project has delivered more than 260 concerts across Spain and Latin America, often selling out to capacity on nearly 200 occasions. The early performances presented songs from the Adalai Tour era, faithfully recreating the look, staging, arrangements, lineup, and instruments that Mecano used in its heyday, even matching the original brands and models used by the group led by the Cano brothers.
From Adalai Tour to Sunday Break
Today, Green Cow Music and Robin Torres unveil a new show built around the most celebrated Mecano album, Descanso Dominical. The production pays homage to one of Mecano’s most populous concerts, delivering a complete musical journey that honors the band’s lasting impact on pop in Spanish.
