A troubling set of health updates and a veteran director’s hospitalization have surfaced from recent events in Russia
An actress identified as Marina Gridasova faced a serious incident in the Apraksin Dvor area of St. Petersburg. Reports indicate she was beaten and rendered unconscious and was subsequently moved to the burn intensive care unit for urgent care. The initial information comes from reports cited by 78.ru through various sources familiar with the case.
According to the same reports, Gridasova, known for roles in the television series Streets of Broken Lights and Secrets of the Investigation, was transported to a city hospital with moderate injuries on the day of the incident, May 2. Medical staff initially placed her in the shock intensive care unit before transferring her to the burns unit, where she reportedly remains under treatment.
There are accounts that the actress, a 63-year-old woman, is experiencing hypothermia and pneumonia. Family members say doctors have given an optimistic outlook and expect a move to a standard ward within two or three days, depending on progress and stabilization of her condition.
In a separate development, reports note that former director Gleb Panfilov, a figure long associated with the Russian film industry, was hospitalized due to a paralysis-related condition. It is stated that the 88-year-old filmmaker suffered a hemorrhagic stroke and was admitted to the intensive care unit at a hospital in Odintsovo district. Sources indicate that medical teams then arranged for his transfer to another hospital facility in Moscow for further care and evaluation.
Panfilov is linked by marriage to actress Inna Churikova, a respected figure in cinema who collaborated with him on multiple projects. Churikova, a People’s Artist, passed away a few months earlier in January 2023 at the age of 79. Her burial took place at Novodevichy Cemetery, marking a significant moment for colleagues and fans following her loss.
