Actor Kirill Kondratov, who portrayed Danil, the friend of Gena Bukin in the comedy series “Happy Together,” is slated to appear in the forthcoming remake. The update came to light through the TNT television channel’s press service.
In the new series, Kondratov’s character is set to continue working in a shoe store alongside his longtime companion.
“Vanka Novikov, one of the writers, reached out to me. I asked, ‘Why call after ten years? What’s the reason?’ He explained that a fresh series was in the works, and I didn’t quite believe it at first. Yet, we gathered the remnants of the cast and began shooting,” the actor recalled.
Kondratov noted that he contributed to the script as one of the writers of the original “Happy Together,” and thus aided in shaping the reboot’s screenplay. He described how he first stepped before the camera in the original sitcom: toward the end of a filming shift, a shortage of performers led Viktor Loginov to invite the screenwriter to try acting.
It has been announced that the continuation, titled “Bukins,” will premiere on July 5. Viktor Loginov, Natalya Bochkareva, Daria Sagalova, and Alexander Yakin are slated to reprise their roles. The project is produced by the film company owned by the Andreasyan brothers. The new season is expected to comprise ten episodes, each around 24 minutes long.
Earlier reports indicated that films like “Challenge” and “Cheburashka” were longlisted for the Golden Eagle awards.
