Gil-Albert Institute Events and Cultural Roundup

Room Room ADD will host on Friday, March 31 at 20:00 a tribute event honoring the historian Santo Matas, a member of Valencia’s Cultural Council and former director of the Gil-Albert Institute. The performance will feature pianist Jesús María Gómez and the Turia Trio, a group formed by María Eugenia Palomares, Vicente Antón, and Francisco Pastor. Meanwhile, the producers of the series (H)ampa Ladies, directed and written by Carlos del Hoyo with screenwriter Pigeon Randoco, will visit Gil-Albert this Tuesday at 6:30 PM to join a new session of the cycle My Favorite Part. The event will be moderated by Carlos Navarro, a series specialist and administrator of the Fuera de Series site.

Carlos del Hoyo is a screenwriter and director with a track record in fiction and entertainment programs. He has shepherded several fiction projects for film, television, and the internet. He served as a screenwriter for notable productions including Central Hospital on Mediaset, and contributed to shows like Mom and Happiness Formula for Antena3 and Neox. He also developed fiction and entertainment formats for the Atresmedia portfolio. He is the co-creator of (H)ampa Ladies, which premiered on Telecinco.

Paloma Randó is an editor, columnist, and screenwriter. In 2006 she began in wardrobe departments for TV series at El País, and in 2012 she moved into screenwriting. She contributed to (H)ampa Ladies and has developed series for Alea Media, Shine Iberia, Secuoya, Zeta Studios, and Suma Content among others.

Star Gastronomy

Also on the menu, chef Alberto Durá, a native of Sant Joan d’Alacant born in 1991, will lead the Star Gastronomy activity on Wednesday, March 29, at 7:30 p.m. The rising talent oversees a restaurant and shares insights drawn from his experiences in Barcelona. The discussion touches on the television show hosted by Jordi Cruz, who earned a second Michelin Star for his culinary work. Durá has consistently appeared on notable lists such as the 100 Young Talents of Gastronomy compiled by leading culinary institutes and has held roles at prominent venues, including the Greenwich Yacht Club restaurant.

Museums and Poetry

On Thursday, March 30, the Gil-Albert Institute has scheduled two events. The first takes place in Alicante at Casa Bardin, where Ainara Aberasturi and Ignacio Fierro—director and scientific advisor of the Ilche Paleontology Museum, respectively—will present a framed lecture series titled Little Treasures. The goal is to spotlight small ethnological or ethnographic museums across the province of Alicante and to broaden their visibility and cultural reach.

Also on Thursday at 19:00, Pego Culture House will host the author Isabel Garcia Canet as part of the Feeding Rains poetic cycle. The Casino de Novelda will serve as the stage for the promotion of the magazine Canelobre 73, published in Alicante.
