Gazmanov Sees Musical Curriculum Inclusion as Honor for Russian Schoolchildren

Oleg Gazmanov, a People’s Artist of Russia, expressed to socialbites.ca that it would be a profound honor to see his songs included in the curriculum of school music classes. He noted that a large number of young fans attend his concerts and know almost his entire repertoire by heart. He emphasized that the idea would be a meaningful recognition of his work and a chance to connect generations through music. Gazmanov explained that he often hears from both young listeners and older fans who grew up with his songs, and he believes those melodies carry values that can inspire students in a classroom setting. He added that recalling songs from his childhood, including pioneer and Komsomol era pieces, evokes memories of patriotism, courage, honor, and the beauty of simple, noble sentiments. He hopes his songs and poems will prove useful in shaping the cultural education of the next generation.
