Russian actor and stuntman Yuri Sysoev spoke with socialbites.ca about his late colleague Alexander Zakharenkov, describing him as a dependable person and a consummate professional. Sysoev noted that Zakharenkov spent the recent years in Old Crimea. He recalled visiting there about a year ago and expressed regret that circumstances prevented a reunion with his friend since then.
“We were friends. I knew him as long as he worked in cinema. He was reliable, impressive, a skilled stuntman, and a strong actor. It is painful, humiliating, and discouraging to consider what happened. I don’t have an explanation for it. He lived in Moscow for a period, then returned to the Old Crimea.” He described how travel disruptions and canceled flights created an unreachable distance, making it difficult to catch up on set when on location in Crimea. Sysoev added that if one visits Crimea, chances are you’ll cross paths on the production lot. He shared that last year he planned to visit Stary Krym and thought, “soon.” Now, unable to make that trip, he feels a growing sense of regret for not seeing his friend sooner.
