The call for exhibitive projects at Las Cigarerras La fi de Buitblanc has drawn 110 submissions by the deadline for applications. The proposals come from both national and international origins, with ideas arriving from Belgium, Germany, the United Kingdom, and Argentina, according to information released by the Department of Culture.
The fi del Buitblanc is presented as an open call for exhibitions that invites exploration through artistic practice and experimentation within the white box space. This initiative centers on contemporary artistic creation and innovation in creative processes, as well as the introduction of new formats and discourses in exhibition practice. It supports projects that are in the research or development phase, providing a platform for experimentation and critical inquiry that can shape future exhibitions.
In total, the program allocates a €20,000 grant for two exhibitions. One budget of €15,000 is designated for the White Box space and €5,000 for the Box 0 project, enabling artists to realize ambitious installations and exploratory works.
Proposals are currently under evaluation, and the plans are to publish the resolution in mid-March on both the municipal website and the social media channels. The decision will confirm which projects move forward and outline the subsequent steps for production, installation, and public presentation.
