Elena Blinovskaya, a blogger, has been kept from visiting her husband at the pre-trial detention center. Reports from the Mash Telegram channel describe the limitations on her communications, noting that she can only correspond by mail, and so far has not received any letters. The channel’s source added that her condition in the facility is stable, she is working to stay composed, has not lost weight, and remains aware of her surroundings.
On January 24, Blinovskaya’s lawyer filed multiple petitions requesting permission for visits and meetings with close relatives. The review process for these applications typically takes three days, yet no response has been issued for Blinovskaya’s defense, which is interpreted as an automatic rejection by the authorities.
According to a recent report from Georgy Volkov, the chairperson of the Moscow Public Inspection Committee, Blinovskaya has been relocated to a four-bed cell, sharing the space with two other inmates. She has not raised any complaints about the living conditions; her demeanor remains steady and focused on managing the circumstances she faces.
Blinovskaya was admitted to the detention facility on January 22. A criminal case has been opened against her for alleged tax evasion involving a sum of 918 million rubles. The case has drawn media attention as it unfolds and draws scrutiny from observers following the incident.
