Mubag will host an upcoming event on Tuesday, showcasing a digital museum initiative focused on management, distribution, and accessibility. This forum highlights the pilot action developed within the European Next Museum project and will culminate with the opening of a work by Elena Aguilera as part of the Art Window cycle.
The proposal centers on creating a prototype application that locates geographically and serves to popularize a permanent exhibition at the Alicante Museum of Fine Arts. Attendees will also see alternative mobile application options during the gathering, both in the gallery and in storage spaces. The event will explore how pieces travel to other exhibitions and how interactive games can help visitors learn about the collection while also improving accessibility.
During the keynote, the Minister of Culture explained that the Alicante Provincial Council aims to share these digital experiences and tools with other museums and interested individuals. These options are becoming increasingly common in the daily operations of cultural centers.
About this day Next Museum project coordinated by the museum technician Maria José Gadea. It will be held with the participation of Mubag director Jorge Soler; José Vicente Berna, Professor of Multimedia Engineering at the University of Alicante; Ricardo Auci, Visivalab coordinator and expert in new technologies; and Mubag technicians Maria Gazabat and María José Gadea.
Elena Aguilera
The closing ceremony of this meeting will feature the opening of the third edition of La Ventana del Arte, dedicated to Elena Aguilera and her works. Forever in the middle of the garden was donated to Mubag in 2022 by Francisco Javier Ruiz, a friend of the artist.
The painting belongs to a series created by Aguilera between 2002 and 2012. It carries the same title as one of the verses by Robert Gómez i Pérez, whose poetic lines inspired the artist to craft large vertical canvases that command attention in the gallery space.
The exhibition, as in prior years, will be accompanied by a video produced by the Provincial Council’s Visual Department. This resource helps visitors understand the artist’s creative process and career, offering a first-person perspective that makes the experience more intimate and accessible. TheMember of Parliament described it as an excellent example of storytelling to extend an exhibition and connect with the public more directly.
