Dragon He Takes a Health-Focused Hiatus Ahead of New Album

Canadian rapper Dragon He stunned fans by revealing a pause from the stage for at least a year to address a long-standing health issue. The news came as he spoke candidly about his wellbeing and the need to put his health first for now.

“I probably won’t be making music for a while. I need to focus on my health first and foremost and I will talk about that soon,” he shared during his SiriusXM show Table for One. The statement brought attention to a problem that has troubled him for years, with the artist noting that the symptoms have been persistent and perplexing.

“He’s been having crazy stomach problems for years. I’m just saying what it is,” he explained, underlining the seriousness of his condition without offering many specifics. The artist emphasized that the period ahead would be devoted to healing and recovery, indicating that a longer break could be necessary.

“For this reason I need to focus on my health and I need to do it well and I will do that. There are a lot of things I want to focus on,” he told the audience, choosing not to detail the illness but making clear the priority on wellness. He also warned listeners that studio time would be limited for a while, saying, “I’m going to lock the studio door for a while. I don’t even know how long it will last. Maybe for a year or so, maybe a little more.”

The health-focused pause comes amid the release of his eighth album, For All The Dogs, which features 23 tracks and collaborations with notable artists such as Bad Bunny, SZA, 21 Savage, Chief Keef, and Sexyy Red. The project marks a milestone in the artist’s career and demonstrates a continued commitment to creative output even as he steps away from the studio temporarily.

In related news, the artist introduced his five-year-old son Adonis in the video for the new track 8AM in Charlotte, the second single from the current studio project. The moment followed a separate moment in which the artist acquired Tupac’s ring last July, a historical purchase that sold at auction for over a million dollars, highlighting the artist’s enduring ties to hip-hop history and personal memorabilia.
