Down syndrome actor Paco Moya earns a notable award at a December event
Paco Moya, a Down syndrome actor from Alicante, will be among four recipients to receive a personalized award at a corporate gathering held tomorrow in honor of Constitution Day. The event takes place in the morning at Casa Mediterráneo and brings together key officials from the Consell and the winners, alongside notable participants including Valencian Paralympic athlete Ricardo Ten, lawyer and activist Noah Higón, and Moya himself.
Represented by the Alicante agency Cinétika Media, Moya has earned more than fifty national and international prizes for his work on the short film Como tú. He is currently seeking support to shoot a feature film in 2023. The project centers on a biographical portrait of a boy with Down syndrome who dreams of becoming an actor, a story that resonates with many emerging performers facing similar journeys.
In addition to his film work, Moya participated in a campaign for Fundación Mapfre last November, focused on business integration. He remains committed to pursuing his dream of becoming a professional actor and earning a living through his craft. Moya has repeatedly stressed that learning, perseverance, and hard work are essential to achieving his goals and serving as a role model for others with Down syndrome.
The Constitution Day event will be broadcast live by À Punt. It will feature performances by La Paz de Sant Joan d’Alacant Music Group, conducted by Blanca Paloma, with musical direction by maestro Joan Espinosa. The gathering promises to highlight diverse talents and contribute to the ongoing conversation about inclusive opportunities in the arts and public life.
