The planned Diana Arbenina concert in Ulyanovsk, originally set for April 15, was cancelled. Local officials explained the decision to TASS, with input from Alexei Igonin, the deputy director of Volga-Sport-Arena.
He noted that the arena would be hosting a major regional event on that date, which was scheduled to occur just a day before the organizer’s preferred date. Given the size and logistics of both events, it would have been impossible to accommodate two large-scale gatherings at the same venue. The decision to cancel was made to avoid overcrowding and ensure safety and proper management of the facilities.
Earlier, a separate cancellation affected the concert by Night Snipers frontman Diana Arbenina in Cheboksary. A post on the Telegram channel of Denis Spirin, the head of Cheboksary city administration, captured a question from a resident about why the Cheboksary show had not yet been cancelled. Spirin clarified that the Diana Arbenina group, along with the band Night Snipers, had their April 14 performance cancelled. He mentioned that the cancellation notice had already been delivered to the event organizer, ensuring all parties were informed in a timely manner.
These cancellations reflect coordinated decisions made by city and regional authorities to manage large-scale events responsibly. Officials emphasized the importance of prioritizing crowd safety, venue capacity, and efficient scheduling, especially when multiple major events contend for the same space.
