Legal representative denies foreign real estate ownership by blogger
Lawyer Natalia Salnikova dismissed claims that blogger Elena Blinovskaya owns property abroad, as reported by TASS. She stated that Blinovskaya does not hold residence outside the country and possesses no overseas assets.
Salnikova added that provisional measures have been placed on all of Blinovskaya’s assets within Russia. She noted that Blinovskaya appears to be coping well in the pre-trial detention center and is making efforts to endure the current situation.
Earlier reports from the media suggested that the blogger might reside in Dubai and have holdings abroad.
On January 22, Blinovskaya was moved to pre-trial detention center No. 6 Pechatniki following concerns over a tax default of 918 million rubles. She was placed under house arrest while investigations continue.
Georgy Volkov, head of the Moscow Public Monitoring Committee, reported that Blinovskaya was moved to a four-bed cell and has two neighbors. He added that she did not voice any complaints about her living conditions.
On January 24, Blinovskaya’s attorney filed several petitions seeking permission for meetings with relatives. The review period is three days, but the petitions did not receive a response, which effectively implies a rejection.
Previously, Victoria Daineko confirmed that Blinovskaya remained in pre-trial detention as the case proceeded.
