In the Republic of Dagestan, President Sergei Melikov signed a decree awarding the title People’s Artist of the Republic of Dagestan to the singer Sarah Shor, who is widely known by her stage name Jasmine. This recognition, reported by RIA Novosti, marks a high point in a lengthy career and serves as a formal acknowledgement of her contributions to music within Dagestan and across Russia.

Yasemin was born in Derbent, a historic city in Dagestan. She launched her musical journey in 1999 with the release of the song It Happens. Over the years she earned the status of Honored Artist of Dagestan in 2009 and was later named Honored Artist of Russia in 2014. These milestones reflect a sustained presence in the regional and national music scenes, as she built a reputation for distinctive vocal work and stage presence that resonated with audiences far beyond her hometown.

Jasmine is the recipient of nine Golden Gramophone awards, along with MTV Russia Music Awards and 17 Song of the Year awards. These accolades illustrate a broad recognition of her popular impact and enduring appeal across multiple generations of listeners in Russia and neighboring regions.

In 1997, Jasmine welcomed her first child, Mikhail, with businessman Vyacheslav Semenduev. The couple divorced in 2006, and the artist publicly addressed allegations of domestic violence from her ex-husband, seeking protection and safety during that period. The experiences surrounding this chapter of her life were shared publicly, contributing to discussions around personal resilience and public scrutiny in the lives of public figures.

Jasmine later married Ilan Shor in 2011. The couple has two children, a daughter named Margarita and a son named Miron, ages referenced as 12 and 7 respectively. The family maintains international ties, with Jasmine residing in Russia and Shor based in Israel, reflecting a lifestyle shaped by cross-border commitments and cultural connections.

In April 2024, Mikhail Semenduev married Eva Khachaturyan, marking another transition in the extended family. Earlier in her career, Jasmine had supported her family in meaningful ways, including providing an apartment for her son and arranging a honeymoon trip to Singapore, illustrating a pattern of practical support alongside her artistic endeavors.
