The health of the singer Lada Dance, whose real name is Lada Volkova, declined after a stay in a private clinic following an accident in the Moscow region. An update came from Sergei Pudovkin, the director overseeing the artist for the TASS agency.
“Sadly, doctors limited communication with Lada today due to her worsening condition. A second facial operation was performed overnight as surgeons worked to optimize existing incisions and tears. We hope to share a personal comment tomorrow”, the singer’s representative stated.
Pudovkin noted he interrupted his vacation to rush to Moscow and learn more about her status, leaving family behind. The exact location of her care was not disclosed. “The primary concern now is her health”, the artist’s director emphasized.
Meanwhile, a message from the Shot Telegram channel claimed Dance could barely speak and was breathing with effort, suggesting her illness followed the surgery and the administration of painkillers.
Damage calculated
The producer also commented on findings from the investigation into the accident that caused the injuries. Experts determined the driver’s condition was stable, but the transport company responsible for the vehicle failed to implement adequate safety measures. An on-site inspection revealed violations of passenger transport rules.
As Pudovkin announced, an attorney would file a lawsuit against the transport company on August 9, seeking 12 million rubles in compensation.
The driver of the singer’s car explained the prior day’s event, saying he did not exceed the speed limit but acknowledged that he realized late that another car had stopped due to a separate incident, which led to the collision. He also noted that the artist was not wearing a seat belt during the trip.
“There was no warning triangle placed. I reacted too late. I tried to steer to the right to soften the impact”, the driver remarked. (Attribution: local press reporting)
Accident involving three cars
The collision occurred in the afternoon on August 5 at the 52nd kilometer of the M-2 Crimea highway (Simferopol highway) in the Podolsk district. The driver of the vehicle carrying the singer in the back seat collided with two other cars after the preceding vehicles had already bumped and halted on the highway. One of the involved vehicles was a Bentley. (Source: traffic incident records)
Four people, including Lada Dance, were injured and transported to medical facilities. The 56-year-old artist was carried on a stretcher and could not move unaided. She was diagnosed with a hip injury, an open head injury, and multiple contusions. The following day she moved from a major clinical hospital to a private clinic for additional imaging, including an MRI and X-ray. Early assessments did not indicate a vertebral fracture at that time.
The 51-year-old driver of the car carrying the artist reported a broken rib. Two other women, aged 29 and 36, sustained injuries including a broken rib and a jaw fracture respectively. (Citations: emergency services records, hospital notices)
Reports indicate the singer was traveling from Domodedovo airport toward her home in Rublyovka on the day of the accident. Some sources suggest she was en route to a corporate event in Kolomna. Emergency services noted the singer was inside a taxi at the moment of impact, and there are indications she has known the driver for more than a decade. (Attribution: regional media briefings)
The artist had a planned schedule of performances. It remained unclear whether those shows would proceed. The next listed event was Hands Up! scheduled for September 8 in Rostov-on-Don. She spoke publicly for the first time after the accident, saying, “Now I will just be Lada. The dance will be difficult.” (Public remarks summarized by event organizers)
At present, the status of upcoming performances remains under review by the artist’s team and medical advisors, with updates expected as her condition allows.
