British band Coldplay announced this week that ticket prices for the two confirmed concerts at the Barcelona Olympic Stadium would be released with a “great request” for fans, as the group planned performances on May 24, 25, and 27, 2023, while a fourth and final show in Barcelona was being considered for May 28.
The group shared via social media that two additional shows would occur on Monday, August 22, alongside the existing May dates on the 24th and 25th. This sparked “amazing interest” as part of their 2023 European tour, and on Wednesday a third show at the Olympic Stadium was added for the 27th.
Tickets went on sale this Thursday at 10:00, and fans across the globe quickly responded. The messages on various platforms indicated exceptionally high demand, with some enthusiasts describing waits of hours or even days for confirmation, and reports from early hours suggested crowds exceeding 200,000 in anticipation globally.
In addition to the fourth Barcelona show, Coldplay also announced a third concert in Manchester and a second performance in Cardiff as part of the same leg of the tour.
These events are part of the Music Of The Spheres World Tour 2023, a global itinerary that will see the band perform in Portugal, England, Switzerland, Denmark, Sweden, Spain, Italy, and the Netherlands, among other destinations.
Coldplay’s last visit to Barcelona took place in May 2016 at the Montjuïc Olympic Stadium, where roughly 55,000 attendees wore luminous bracelets that lit up in time with the music, creating a memorable sea of light in the venue. [citation needed]
