Fiesta para ver Eurovisión desde Benidorm

Benidorm will once again host a pivotal moment as the Eurovisión final unfolds in Malmö, Sweden. For the third year running, the city becomes the backdrop for Spain’s voting, with RTVE once more broadcasting the final from Benidorm. Soraya Arnelas steps forward as spokesperson, delivering Spain’s verdict and revealing which country receives the coveted twelve points on May 11.

The reveal came during Nebulossa’s farewell concert at Madrid’s Teatre Albéniz, where the winning Benidorm Fest duo prepared to depart for Malmö to compete in Eurovisión. The event drew attendance from the City Council’s Events Councillor, Jesús Carrobles, and a crowd of live and streaming viewers on RTVE Play joined Nebulossa for a farewell performance that included the songs Glam, Me ha dado porno, and A quién le importa. The lineup also featured Varry Brava, Sofía Coll, Almácor, Jorge González, Angy Fernández, st. Pedro, and Abba’s musical ensemble.

In earlier editions, Nieves Álvarez and Ruth Lorenzo served as live reporters from Benidorm, delivering the Spanish jury’s scores to viewers. The mayor, Toni Pérez, expressed pride in Benidorm having a powerful platform like the Eurovision final, noting that Soraya’s connection to the city and her performances have consistently engaged Benidorm’s residents, eurofans, and Benidorm Fest followers.

Before the May 11 final, Benidorm has another stop in Malmö for the Eurovision Benidorm Fest Club. On Wednesday the 8th, at Inkonst in the Swedish city, starting at 7 p.m., three acts from the festival’s editions—Varry Brava, Miss Caffeina, and Sharonne—will perform.

Fiesta to watch Eurovisión from Benidorm

As this newspaper reported previously, on the final day Benidorm will rally behind Eurovisión. The festival’s broadcast featuring Nebulossa with its entry Zorra representing Spain shifts this time to the Julio Iglesias Auditorium in l’Aigüera Park, where the Benidorm Fest Euroclub will host the grand party. Past participants are set to help animate the day with live shows.

Organized by RTVE in collaboration with the Benidorm City Council, the Generalitat Valenciana, Fotur, and other partners, the Benidorm Fest celebration in Benidorm will again showcase support for the competition. Thousands of eurofans are expected to converge before, during, and after the broadcast of Europe’s premier music event. The event begins at 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 11, with confirmed performers including Blanca Paloma, Sofía Martín, José Otero, Noan, Mantra, Sharonne, and Sofía Coll, among others.

Additionally, several DJs will keep the energy high while large screens relay Eurovisión’s performances. At the l’Aigüera park, zones will be set up for fans to gather, food trucks to keep everyone fed, and merchandise and relaxation areas so attendees can fully enjoy the show.
