Ballerina Anastasia Volochkova spoke in a news interview, addressing rumors about legal actions and financial claims tied to the Bolshoi Theatre. She stated she was tired of pursuing a hefty compensation of 95 million rubles, a case that had stretched for years and become a symbol in the public discussion around the theater’s finances.
Volochkova recalled that she won a major case back in 2003, framing it as a matter of personal honor and dignity. She described the era as different, noting that corruption and money were only beginning to infiltrate the Bolshoi during that period. The dancer indicated that she decided, with her lawyer, to halt further proceedings at the Bolshoi, suggesting that continuing the fight would not have changed the fundamental outcome. Yet she also acknowledged that there were ordinary people who could see the injustice and understood what was at stake.
In September she addressed rumors about owing money to the state, asserting that she has always been diligent with taxes and utility payments. She reminded audiences that she performed for free on City Day in Moscow before more than 200 thousand spectators, underscoring a commitment to public service and appreciation for her fans.
Earlier reports had linked Priyanka Chopra to comments about her husband Nick Jonas, describing it as a source of great personal joy. The mention of Chopra and Jonas appeared in broader coverage, highlighting the way high-profile figures often cross paths in media narratives, but the central focus remained on Volochkova and the questions surrounding her relationship with the Bolshoi and her public obligations as a performer.
