From March 31 to April 3, 2022, Gostiny Dvor will host the largest contemporary art fair and international art forum Art Russia. The event will bring together 140 representatives from Russia and abroad, including participants from Germany and France, showcasing a broad spectrum of visual culture, sculpture, photography, and multimedia installations. The organizers, as reported by TASS through the project’s press service, emphasize the fair as a flagship platform that bridges creators, collectors, curators, and institutions, fostering dialogue and collaboration across borders and disciplines.
History demonstrates that art has a unique ability to illuminate human experience, create shared meaning, and offer hope and vitality even in difficult times. In light of this belief, Art Russia will not be cancelled but celebrated as a dynamic space for exchange and experimentation. The fair is designed to function as a creative ecosystem where ideas circulate freely, partnerships form, and new projects take root. Within this atmosphere, attendees will experience a curated program that highlights both established talents and emerging voices, reinforcing the event’s role as a catalyst for dialogue, risk-taking, and sustained engagement with contemporary art on a national and international scale.
Project participants will include 25 galleries, 50 experts, and 65 independent artists, sculptors, and photographers. The forum’s central topics will explore the evolving Russian art market and its forecasts, the intersection of art with new media and digital platforms through NFT discussions, and the broader relationship between art and technology. The program aims to illuminate market trends, investment dynamics, and curatorial strategies while also examining how digital technologies are reshaping creation, ownership, and presentation in contemporary art. Through panel discussions, artist showcases, and collaborative installations, Art Russia seeks to highlight the vitality of the Russian art scene alongside international perspectives, underscoring the fair’s mission to connect culture, commerce, and innovation across borders.
