The International Festival of Landscape Objects Archstoyanie will unfold at the Nikola-Lenivets art park with support from Tochka Bank, running from July 26 to 28, 2024. As stated by the event’s press service, this year’s focus centers on a unifying theme, We.
The organizers describe Archstoyanie 2024 as a space where communities surrounding the art village—ranging from volunteers and seasonal residents to electronic music enthusiasts and fans—will form the core area of study. The festival grounds are envisioned as an adventure-filled quest, inviting each vivid cultural group to claim its space and communicate through the languages of art, architecture, music, and theater.
Leading figures shaping the festival are the artist and founder of the park Nicolai Polissky and artist Andrei Syailev. Polissky will present the art object Bath Forum, a transparent bath-lecture hall crafted from hazel, linden, and pine needles. Inside, attendees will participate as part of the audience performance; outside, observers will witness a show set against the warm glow of a steam-filled backdrop.
In Earth House, Syailev will construct three interconnected objects that engage with the natural world: Insecto Phalanster for bee observation, Bird Bell Tower for watching birds, and Nature Theater for immersion in the silent realm of plants.
A diverse lineup of projects, including works by Zoloto, Hadn Dadn, Naadya, Mirèle, Oligarkh, Yuri Kvyatkovsky, Ellie in the Poppy Field, Asenssia, passmurny, Flying Squirrel, Daria Viardot, Buttoned Vineyard, Attention lingonberry!, Annushka, Kasha, Volvom, Yoko, GOST Sound 4×4, and Leveldva, will illuminate the festival.
Archstoyanie offers experiences that reveal the lifestyle of a Hedonistic Volga resident, inviting participants to draw metaphorical self-portraits, explore a labyrinthine city swept by snowy winds, or step into a gallery built from banana boxes. Attendees can scream, swim at night, undergo theatrical training for liberation along the Ugra River, participate in a social dancing master class, or craft their own collective action.
For the first time, Archstoyanie will host camps open to festival guests, serving as gathering spaces for communities united by purpose. The performative program Archstoyania comprises three performances by directors Sasha Nikitina, Asya Litvinova, and Gabbilen Galychev.
The event’s curatorial team included Anton Kochurkin as curator, Yulia Bychkova as producer, Ivan Polissky as music program producer, Svetlana Zvyagina as curator of cultural institutions and the camp program, and Maria Mkrtycheva as curator of the educational program.
Festival tickets are available on the event website. Previous communications noted that the Sap Festival would be held alongside the Wild Mint art camp.
