The former producer of Tender May, Andrei Razin, made public threats toward the families of the artists who took part in the most recent memorial concert honoring Yuri Shatunov. His comments were quoted by news.ru, raising concerns about safety and ongoing harassment targeting those connected with the event.
Razin warned that beginning November 1, every Friday he would address the grandmothers first, then the parents of the artists who performed at what he calls a scandalous show, followed by talks about the artists’ future children and grandchildren. He claimed that this pattern of attention would be directed at all participants who performed at the sold-out memorial concert, which he said was condemned by higher powers. The producer asserted that the nightmare would persist for months, underscoring his intention to continue this tirade for a long period.
That memorial concert, titled Yura Was Here!!!, took place on October 17 at Crocus City Hall. A number of well-known performers sang songs from Yuri Shatunov’s repertoire, the former frontman of Tender May. Friends and relatives of the musician were in attendance and shared recollections from his life, painting a fuller portrait of the artist beyond the stage.
Earlier in October, Razin reportedly condemned the concert attendees, labeling the event itself as satanic and suggesting that the celebrities had chosen to associate themselves with Shatunov’s concert due to contractual ties with a record company. These remarks added to a growing atmosphere of controversy surrounding the memorial, as Razin asserted that the artists had been drawn into the event through business arrangements rather than personal homage.
In other statements, Razin had previously threatened the safety of the artists who Shatunov supposedly cursed because of the concert, a claim that amplified concerns about threats and intimidation in the wake of the event. Such declarations drew media attention and prompted discussions about the responsibilities of public figures, festival organizers, and the broader entertainment community when dealing with the legacies of popular artists.
