Anatoly Rudenko has become the subject of a criminal investigation over alleged drug possession and transport. A Telegram channel reported progress in the case, highlighting fresh developments as the inquiry continues.
On the evening of January 28, Rudenko was present at a performance in the Music Theater and Show III Rome located in Pushkino, within the Moscow region. In this production of Viy, drawn from Nikolai Gogol’s famous story, the actor portrays the philosopher Khoma Brut. Reports note that this appearance occurred amid ongoing preliminary investigations focused on the actor, with details remaining under official review.
Earlier, authorities detained Rudenko after a traffic stop that night. He appeared agitated as officers conducted a routine check. A bag containing a small quantity of a controlled substance was found in proximity to the actor during the search. Investigators later clarified that the substance weighed approximately 0.57 grams and was located near his person during the stop.
The actor explained that the package had been found on the street and mistakenly assumed to be harmless. He stated that once he realized what it contained, he attempted to dispose of it but could not succeed in doing so.
Official comments previously referenced safety and welfare concerns connected to performances at venues under the Theater of Satire. The current case continues to develop as investigators gather additional evidence and statements from involved parties.
