In October a leading fantasy icon steps onto the Alicante stage
Alicante will host a landmark moment in mid-October as a beloved world of heroes returns to the city for a prominent Video Games, Comics, Cinema and TV Series event at the Institución Ferial Alicantina. The gathering spotlights one of the most emblematic figures from the Game of Thrones universe, the Three-Eyed Raven, alongside a crowd of creators, performers, and fans. Isaac Hempstead Wright, the actor who brought Bran Stark to life on the award-winning HBO series, will participate in public appearances, signings, and photo sessions with attendees, adding star power to the event and offering fans a chance to connect with the actor beyond the screen.
The convention promises a strong comics and illustration presence as well. Major guests include Salva Espín, Carles Esquembre, Ramón López-Cabrera, Pablo Andrés Bachs, and Fernando Dagnino, among others who are known for their work in graphic storytelling. In addition, figures from film, television, and digital media will contribute to a diverse program featuring talks and demonstrations alongside the main stage presentations. Esteemed creators like Juanra Fernández, Lechero Fett, and Javier Olivares from La Botella de Kandor will participate, bringing a wide array of expertise to the festival floor.
A spokesperson for the event, José Bravo, the directing force behind Alicante Video Game Comic, outlined an engaging lineup that will entertain not just fans but also casual visitors. The celebration is not the first time this venue has embraced Game of Thrones iconography. English actor Julian Glover, renowned for his portrayal of Imperial General Maximilian Veers and the Grand Master Pycelle in the series, previously took part in the 2018 edition. In 2017, Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson, widely known for his role as The Mountain, appeared as a major guest. The organizers remain excited about Isaac Hempstead Wright’s participation in Alicante and believe that the convention’s momentum will continue to grow. The goal is to expand the event year after year, inviting leading actors and broadening the appeal of Alicante as a global hub for gaming, comics, and related media.
The event will explore many aspects of the culture surrounding freak and geek communities, offering programming that spans panels, live performances, and interactive exhibits. It will take place over two days in mid-October, with activities scheduled for the 15th and 16th at the Institución Ferial Alicantina.
