On the anniversary of January 27, Holocaust remembrance honors the liberation of the Nazi concentration and extermination camp Auschwitz-Birkenau by Soviet forces in 1945. A commemorative concert will be held in Alicante, organized by the French Consulate in Alicante and the Alicante Concert Society Foundation, with proceeds supporting ongoing classical music education initiatives for audiences of all ages in the coming days at the Mediterráneo Foundation Culture Classroom at 8:00 PM on the 12th of January.
The concert program, designed under the banner of classical music, spans works from Bach to pieces by contemporary composers. The event spotlights performers who were selected by the Paris National Music Center and the Valencia French Institute. The violinist Helene Bordeaux and cellist Florent Audibert join as featured soloists; both artists have been recognized for their international stature and contributions to chamber music, with a focus on collaborative projects that bring a changing, dynamic chamber music experience. The duo is joined by Karine Lethiec, a renowned chamber musician and ensemble advocate who frequently collaborates with Calliopée, a modern, adaptable chamber music collective known for its rotating lineup of two to ten musicians.
Artists will perform a diverse catalog including Bach, Mozart, Dotzauer, Glière, Ravel, Goué, Goldfaden, Sher, Sperling, Faivre, and Mulsant. Tickets support the Alicante Concert Society Foundation’s ongoing mission to fund classical music education and make concerts accessible to audiences of all ages. Students and families may apply for scholarships and concert access through donations and program funding. Tickets can be purchased through the official ticketing portal linked on the foundation’s site.
