A Moscow Incident Involving a Young Actor and a Statue
A Moscow man identified as Victor Russo, an actor by trade, was connected to the incident surrounding the destroyed
“Princess Turandot” statue-fountain near the Vakhtangov Theater. Reports note that Russo was 23 years old at the time and had briefly graced the theatre stage in the past. He also took part in the city’s festival known as the “Ship of Melpomene”. When acting opportunities dried up, Russo found work as a foreman at a construction site, as an industrial climber, and in a pizzeria, illustrating a varied, if unsettled, early career.
On September 9, Russo climbed the
“Princess Turandot” fountain sculpture at the Vakhtangov Theater and fell during the bow of his ascent. He was hospitalized with injuries described as broken heels and faces a lengthy road to recovery. The incident was documented by hospital officials and linked to a period during which the individual involved displayed moderate levels of violence in relation to the event.
The Botkin Hospital release noted that the man works in the 19th neurosurgery department and that his condition was fair with stable breathing and general health indicators at the time of the report.
Earlier information linked to the case mentioned that a well-known blogger, Danya Milokhin, would be drafted into military service. This detail appeared in contemporaneous coverage as part of broader reporting on public figures and national service obligations.
