On March 15, 2025, a new pilot project will begin in Moscow, which involves the sale of tickets to theaters and concert halls only upon presentation of the buyer’s identity card. This was reported by press service Moscow Ministry of Culture.
This experiment will cover 63 theaters and 36 concert venues affiliated with the Ministry of Culture.
The rules will apply not only to these institutions’ main events, but also to rental events organized by third-party companies. The ministry noted that this initiative aims to increase the level of security and control in ticket sales in the city.
At the Bolshoi Theater from October 1 started to issue personalized tickets that can be purchased upon presentation of identification document. The aim of this measure is to combat speculation and fraud. The pilot project implemented by the Moscow Ministry of Culture will last until the end of 2025, after which it is planned to evaluate its results and expand it to other parts of the capital.
