Members of Korean pop group BTS will be given the opportunity to rehearse and even hold concerts abroad while serving in the military. This was reported by PageSix with reference to the words of South Korean Defense Minister Lee Jong-sup.
“BTS members should enlist in the military and I believe we will find a way to give them the opportunity to rehearse, as well as leave the country and perform whenever they want if they have concerts abroad,” Jung Sub said.
He explained that the department is now selecting alternative service options for artists. The Minister of Defense emphasized that serving in the military elevates one’s authority in the eyes of others, in connection with this, Jung Sub suggested that the Korean boy band could become even more popular.
Previously It has been revealed that the Korean Ministry of Culture is planning to exempt BTS members from military service.
