TV presenter and comedian Ivan Urgant posted on Instagram (the owner of the company Meta is known as an extremist and is banned in Russia) that he sold all copies of the book “Swollen Glands of Life” with blank pages.
“Thank you for this love for the printed word, or rather half-word,” the TV presenter wrote.
Urgant announced that he earned 3.5 million rubles from the sale of 5 thousand copies of the manuscript. He stated that all proceeds will go to help House at the Lighthouse children’s hospice.
The book “Swollen Glands of Life” has only a title, a table of contents and a cover depicting a sphinx with the face of a TV presenter. All the rest are blank pages.
“I wrote the main quotes. Modern, biting, bright. “I don’t always have time to read, but I read Ivan’s book in one sitting”; “The book is contradictory in every way. “I’m waiting for the movie adaptation”; “An incredible book! I couldn’t tear myself away. It’s such a twisted plot, every character arc is so carefully crafted. I applaud you!” — Internet users scoffed at Urgant’s post.
urgent itself said “You start flipping through the pages and it’s very exciting: you start reading, you remember how you wrote it all down, how you got to everything…” he said of his book.
