Former producer Harvey Weinstein reportedly underwent emergency heart surgery at a New York hospital ABC News. Representatives for Weinstein, 72, said he is recovering well after the procedure.

“We can confirm that Mr. Weinstein underwent heart surgery today but we cannot comment further,” they said.
The once-prominent producer was transferred from New York’s Rikers Island prison complex to Bellevue, where he awaits a retrial on sexual assault charges. This is his second hospitalization in two months.
Weinstein’s attorney, Arthur Aidala, said prison officials requested that Weinstein be transferred to Bellevue immediately “because he complained of chest pain.”
The Weinstein scandal broke in 2017 when more than 80 actresses, including Angelina Jolie, Gwyneth Paltrow, Ashley Judd, Cara Delevingne and Salma Hayek, made allegations of sexual harassment against him. These revelations became the catalyst for the #MeToo movement.
