Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov said that foreign automakers leaving the Russian Federation in 2022 are unlikely to return to the Russian market, despite the concluded options. He shared his opinion in an interview with the newspaper “Vedomosti”.
Manturov recalled that in 2022, Western companies in various sectors signed collective agreements to exit Russian assets with options for return for up to six years. The Deputy Prime Minister noted that many of them are still servicing corporate equipment and are showing a desire to continue work, while “the auto industry is slamming the door and running away.”
“Yes, there are also return options, but I very much doubt the real prospects and possibilities of their implementation,” Manturov said.
According to him, the alternative partners who replaced the companies that left provided the opportunity to use their platforms under much more comfortable conditions.
