The head of the movement, Ildar Rezyapov, described Shufutinsky as a man of strong principles who was not afraid to openly declare his love for his homeland in difficult times. The activist noted that the singer had long been recognized as a people’s artist.
“His position deserves respect, and of course he deserves the title of ‘People’s Artist of the Russian Federation,’” Rezyapov said.
In August, producer Joseph Prigozhin said that Mikhail Shufutinsky’s song “Three Septembers” “has become a magnet” and will now live for a long time.
