People’s Artist of Russia, outstanding Soviet and Russian pianist Mikhail Muntyan died at the age of 88. Provides details Classical Music News.
It is known that the Russian artist passed away on August 17. The cause of death was not specified.
After graduating from the Gnessin Institute, he became a full-time pianist of the All-Union Radio and Television Great Symphony Orchestra. The artist also collaborated with the Rudolf Barshai Moscow Chamber Orchestra, taking part in concert programs and recordings of the group.
Muntean had a long and vibrant creative career. During his many years of work he released more than 20 CDs with works by Soviet and Russian authors.
