Dubbing actor and announcer Boris Bystrov died at the age of 79. This was reported by “Kinopoisk” his wife Irina Savina.
Bystrov is known for voicing Homer Simpson on The Simpsons. He has also voiced projects such as “Interstellar,” “The Dark Knight,” “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey,” “Star Wars,” Episode I: The Phantom Menace, Schindler’s List, The Sopranos, Kung Fu Panda, Aladdin, Futurama.
Bystrov has worked in voice acting for computer games, providing the voice of Professor Lebedev in Atomic Heart: Extermination Instinct and Andrei Ermak in Metro Exodus, as well as voicing Zeus, SF, and Shaker in Dota 2.
In 1966, Bystrov graduated from the Moscow Art Theater School. In the same year, he made his debut in the fairy-tale film Aladdin’s Magic Lamp. After graduation, the artist worked at the Lenkom Theater. In 1968, he became an actor at the Moscow Drama Theater named after M. N. Ermolova. In 2001, he was awarded the title of People’s Artist of Russia.
Bystrov was married three times. His first wife was the daughter of actor Leonid Kmit Inna. Their marriage gave birth to a daughter, Ekaterina. His second wife was ballerina Tatyana Leibel. Irina Savina is his third wife. From their union a son, Nikolai, was born.
