The First Moscow International Film Week, an unprecedented event featuring 300 film screenings at more than 30 venues across the capital, will be held in the capital from 23 to 28 August. About this reported Head of the city culture department Alexey Fursin.
The program includes over 70 films from India, China, Iran and other countries, as well as over 40 Russian film and animation projects.
In addition, everyone will be able to visit the Moskino film park, where excursions will be held around the film sets.
The focus of film week is foreign cinema.
Audiences will see the Indian blockbuster film ‘RRR: Revolution Roars Nearby’ and the record-breaking Indian science fiction film ‘Kalki, 2898 AD’.
Chinese cinema will be particularly well-represented by the war film “King of the Sky,” which tells the story of a pilot testing top-secret fighter jets.
The audience will also get acquainted with Iranian films. The program will include the philosophical and mystical drama “Alzheimer” directed by Ahmed Reza Motamedi, which will be shown for the first time in Russia, as well as the film “The Salesman”, about the development of relations between a man and a woman whose house turns into a crime scene.
Among domestic films, the historical film “Suvorov: The Great Journey” and the drama “We Must Make Films About Love” about two filmmakers from different countries who unite in a creative duet will meet the audience. It was created in co-production with India.
The program also includes a documentary film “Perm. Ballet. Opera”, which explores the phenomenon of success of the provincial theater.
Young viewers will be shown the animated film “Chink: The Tailed Detective,” which tells the story of a little monkey who gets lost in the big city.
From August 15, registration for film screenings will be available on the Moscow International Film Week website.
The event will be held as part of the Moscow-2030 forum.
