Lithuanian customs officers detained a heavy-duty MAN truck at the Belarusian border carrying three Toyota Land Cruiser SUVs under the guise of toilet paper. reported On the website of the Customs of the Republic of Lithuania.
The heavy truck was driven by an Uzbekistani citizen who said he was carrying 720kg of toilet paper. However, customs officers suspected the semi-trailer might contain contraband and ran it through an X-ray machine.
“A comprehensive inspection of the semi-trailer, which had toilet paper boxes in the back and stacks of chipboard on the sides, revealed three vehicles. A customs report found that a total of three Toyota Land Cruiser SUVs were being illegally exported abroad.
The driver stated that he was not aware of the hidden vehicles. He was released on his own accord. A criminal case was opened.
