Former Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein was hospitalized from prison with coronavirus and double pneumonia. reports CBS cited a celebrity representative.
Weinstein, who is awaiting a retrial in New York and will appeal his conviction in California, also has diabetes, high blood pressure, spinal stenosis and fluid in his heart and lungs, the spokesman added. He is currently being held in the Bellevue Hospital prison wing, according to the New York Department of Corrections.
The former producer has been hospitalized several times in recent years. He was admitted to Bellevue Hospital in 2020 for chest pains, shortly after being sentenced to 23 years in prison on charges of rape and other criminal sexual conduct.
Following the verdict, Weinstein also underwent heart surgery for a blocked artery.
Besides that, he hospitalized in April 2024, shortly after an appeals court decision overturned his 2020 rape conviction.
